What's Old is New Again

So the Florida Marlins have hired 80 yr old Jack McKeon to manage for the rest of the season after the sudden "resignation" of Edwin Rodriguez on Sunday morning.  McKeon was the manager for their 2003 World Series (with Bartman's help they beat my Cubbies for the NL Pennant).  This makes Jack one of the oldest managers ever in baseball.  And so far the Marlins are 1-1.  But just how long can his tough old school love motivate these over paid players?  I never believed in changing managers in the middle of the season because when you get down to it the players still have to make the pitches, hit the balls, and make the plays to when the game.  I hope that Jack does well and makes the players respect the game and all of those who played before them.

So here's to Jack who just won't go into that damn retirement and collect his AARP in peace.
